Streets of My Old Workplace

Freedom in Christ was revealed to me today, as I walk the streets of my old workplace. I saw that nothing had changed since I left. There was still arrogance, eyes that looked past you as others walked by. I remember when these things used to bother me. I would stress out everyday, why are people so arrogant, why are people rejecting me?

Well I can say that today when I returned to the area, I saw things very differently, my world was much more joyful and clear. As I walked the streets of my old workplace, I thanked Jesus, with a smile I could not hide. I was overjoyed because He has set me free from the bondage of the world. That I don’t have to follow the patterns of this world.

“Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” – Romans 12:2

This Scripture truly set me free, because I know longer have to follow and be like other people, I can just be me, the weird guy God created me to be. Jesus has set me free from the bondage of having to be of this world, and in this I can rest.

I have learned that when we seek our identity in others, we begin to see ourselves in the way they see us.. Believing that our lives hold no worth or value. But, when we seek our identity in Christ, we will come to know our value/worth through His eyes. The price that He paid for us, reveals our TRUE value… Our God, the Lord who Created us, humbled Himself as a “man”, and submitted to His own creation, through beatings and torture.. NOT because any of us are worthy of His sacrifice, but because He loves us, His sacrifice gave us that worth, if that makes any sense? ;-) His sacrifice for each and everyone of us, places more value and worth on our lives than any human ever can. :-)
